Beginning the Journey

Hi, friends!  The last two years have been such a whirlwind.  The Lord has taken us on a cross-country journey from Louisiana to North Carolina and back to Mississippi.  He's taught us so much about relying on Him for all we need.  He's provided in every way.  In each move, He's surrounded us with a Gospel community that has become family.  And we're so grateful!  It has taken us no time at all to feel at home in Tupelo.  With this move, the Lord has prompted us to begin our adoption journey.  Since before we were married, Mitchell and I have talked, dreamed, and prayed about adoption.  Our hearts have been burdened for the nations, and we long to share the hope we have in Christ with them.  In our (almost) 5 years of marriage, we've discussed every option under the sun... from domestic to fostering to international adoption. We presumed that by now we would have biological kids as well, and we would be adding to our family through adoption.  But His plans are greater.  And we continue to look forward with great hope that He will fulfill all He has planned.  So, after much prayer and research and discussion, we've decided to pursue adoption from the country of Taiwan.  We're just getting started, and we know that the Lord could take us on a completely different path. But this is where we feel His calling.

The journey will be long.  We've been told that we can expect to wait one to two years from the time of application.  (We're working on that now.)  And it could be longer, depending on about a million different circumstances.  It will also be costly.  But not nearly as costly as our adoption by Christ.  And we're excited and expectant that the Lord will provide, as He always does.  We plan to fundraise, and we'll post about those efforts here as well.  Most importantly, we covet your prayers.

Please pray that the Lord will provide clear direction and give us the wisdom to follow Him.
Pray that He will protect our children (we would love to adopt a sibling group) from the pains of separation from biological parents and the difficulties of living in an unstable environment.
Pray for the salvation of the biological parents.
Pray for financial provision and reliance on Him.
